The 360° Immersive Web Video Platform Is A Revolution In Marketing

Just recently we have seen an explosive growth in marketers trying to find new and exciting ways to engage their audiences longer. The 360° immersive web video platform is a revolution in marketing and it is unfolding right now. With the recent release of the new Sony Bloggie, the consumer version of a 360° video camera, the consumer is going to recognize and expect this new video technology just as what's happened with 360° still panaoramic photgraphs. Numerous major companies have utilized this technolgy including National Geographic, Adidas and Red Bull. Immersive Media Chief Operating Officer Karen Tanaka said videos for Adidas and Red bull were viewed by an average of five times by each viewer. "In the past, you hit click and play. With our video the interactivity and control empower the audience," Mrs. Tanaka said. They're looking at what they want to see. Another major development has been the live streaming of 360° video for events. Now that the live streaming of 360° video for events has taken place, we are beginning to see the results. Ryan Trotman, director at MuchMusic reports that during their first immersive streaming event, MuchMusic doubled its audience in the second half of the show as viewers spread links to the event via Twitter and Facebook. The more we allow our viewers to control the show, the less likely they are to flip away," said Ryan Trotman. For more information on this article you can find it at Advertising Age.
